Creating Better Environments for Black and Brown Families During Family Entertainment and Screen Time

The development of physical activity and sedentary behaviors in young children, especially during their formative years, is significantly influenced by various factors, including the modeling and practices of parents, as well as the overarching parenting style and parental self-efficacy. Parenting style encompasses the overall approach that shapes the emotional environment in which parental behaviors are conveyed and understood by the child. It serves as a framework that can moderate the effects of specific parenting practices on a child's development. Additionally, parental self-efficacy pertains to a parent's confidence in their ability to effectively manage and perform parenting-related tasks.

The purpose of our presence: On any given day in the United States, over 400,000 children are placed in foster care. The most at-risk children, particularly those who experience abuse and neglect, are often the ones who suffer the most within a flawed foster care system. We invite you to explore our bookstore or the parenting channel to learn more about fostering healthy parenting practices and building enduring relationships with your children.
