Working With Parents For The Betterment of Children's Opportunities For Growth, Health And Education

A primary objective of numerous educational policies is to encourage parental engagement in their children's academic experiences. While the emphasis of these initiatives, as well as much of the existing research, has typically centered on enhancing the level of parental involvement, it is essential to recognize that factors beyond mere involvement may also play a significant role. This article posits that understanding the how, whom, and why of parental engagement is vital for optimizing its advantages. The review of evidence suggests that the manner in which parents engage significantly influences the effectiveness of their involvement. Furthermore, it is contended that the impact of parental involvement may vary in significance for different children. The rationale behind parental engagement is also examined. The article concludes with a discussion on the implications for future research and intervention strategies.

WHFF.tv aims to advance effective policies and initiatives for children by supplying policymakers, service providers, the media, and other stakeholders with timely and impartial information grounded in the most reliable research.
